Abstract

Photo album of over 300 black-and-white photographs of botanical specimens Rock collected in their natural habitats in various localities throughout Yunnan, Sichuan, and other parts of China, and in Tibet. These photographs correspond with specimens stored in the National Museum of Natural History Herbarium. Photographs are labeled with scientific names, localities, dates, and a description of the image and specimen. The National Geographic Society has cataloged each of these images. These records can be found in their image collection database, which is only available to use upon request: https://spi.ngs.org/portal/index.jsp. This album was disbound and is currently housed in 66 folders in four boxes. Each folder contains 4-5 photographs with captions. A typed index and legend (transcribed captions) to the images is found in folders 2 and 3 of box 1. An image of Rock and his assistants is found in folder 4, box 2.
