Abstract

The diaries document the daily activities of Parish-Smithsonian Expedition to Haiti, 1930. Diaries are of Watson M. Perrygo and Lee H. Parish (copy). Perrygo's diary is listed by date, with journal style entries. He discusses destinations, challenging episodes during the journey, observed wildlife, collecting preparation and care of live and dead specimens,other participants, a trip to caves of Petit Trou de Nippes, and description of Île à Vache. Perrygo lists specimens collected by Parish and himself. They are identified by common name per dated entry. Locations include vicinity of Baracoa (Cuba), Boca de Tanamo, Port-au-Prince, Île de la Gonâve, Rivière des Barres, Cayemites [Anse à Maçon], Navassa Island, and Île à Vache.
