Abstract

The maps and charts are from the Tanager expedition of 1923. Includes published maps from the British Survey of Hawaiian Islands (1892), US Survey on the USS Beaver (1922), and others the result of the US Navy's survey work during the Tanager expedition. Some maps include descriptions and individuals involved in their creation. Maps and charts depict islands, atolls, and reefs of Hawaiian and Wake Islands. Specific islands include vicinity of French Frigate Shoals, Pearl and Hermes Reef Lisianski, Johnston, Wake, and Laysan Island.
