Abstract

Photographs are mostly from Wetmore's expedition to Haiti in 1927 and the Dominican Republic. Images have captions on the backside and often include a date and an assigned number, though not corresponding with negative numbers (may have been used in a publication). Subject matter includes aerial images; sulphur spring; camp sites; colleagues; sisal fields; animals loaded with supplies; caves; mountainside vegetation; birds and nests; and boats at coast. Locations include the vicinity of Etang de Miragoane, Pic de Macaya, Bahía de Samaná, Constanza, Baie d'Aquin, and Île de la Gonâve.
