Abstract

List of objects of natural history collected for the Smithsonian Institution by MacFarlane of Fort Anderson, Arctic America (Northwest Territories, Canada), 26 May 1862 -10 May 1865. Specimens are numbered 1-546 in the first half of the volume and 1551 to 3050. Listed are scientific name of species, sex, quantity collected, eggs collected, date, locality, and remarks. Remarks and descriptions range from one or two lines, to full pages with narrative anecdotes of the collecting events, descriptions of habitat, and other comments about the specimens. The second half of the volume contains an index, which seems to be organized by locality. Localities include Fort Anderson, Rendezvous Lake, Franklin Bay, and Fort Simpson.
