Abstract

Specimen lists and notes document William Louis Abbott's work on flora and fauna in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, circa 1916-1928. Includes originals and copies. Lists include descriptions of collecting sites. Notes on birds vary. Some include Latin name and how frequently seen on the island; others include more details about how easily collected and locations where they are common; additionally others are for specific periods of time with extended descriptions. The latter usually specify a location on the island. Also includes Wetmore's notes on Abbott's materials. Locations include the vicinity of Île de la Gonâve,Constanza, and Lago Enriquillo.
