Abstract

17 black-and-white photographs documenting mammal specimens Mearns collected in Fort Verde [Camp Verde], Arizona, 1886-1887. Photos labeled with number (collector or photo number), date, some times sex, and location. One photo contains reference to page number in journal. Otters, badgers, mice, deer, antelope, kangaroo rats, cayotes, and "work of beavers" (photos of trees chewed by beavers) are included. One photograph (blueprint) of unidentified bird. Photograph of grave of "Wilson" who was killed by a Grizzly after shooting it. Localities include Ash Creek, Beaver Creek, Verde River, and Oak Creek.
