Abstract

18 black-and-white photographs documenting mammal specimens Mearns collected in Fort Verde [Camp Verde], Arizona, 1886-1887. Photos labeled with number (collector or photo number), date, and location. One photo contains reference to page number in journal. Otters, deer, mice, beavers, and "work of beavers" (photos of trees chewed by beavers) are included. Localities include Yavapai County, Box Canyon, White Mountains, Clear Creek, and Verde River.
