Abstract

This field book includes personal, travel, and field notes from 1975 and 1982 on trips to Brazil. At the beginning of the notebook are three folded sheets summarizing the content in the notebook by year. Kleiman's notes reflect her trips to Tijuca National Park, Poço das Antas Biological Reserve, and Parque Zoológico de São Paulo where she takes notes about several kinds of mammals. Notes on black lion tamarins and brachyteles (spider monkeys) are especially notable. Kleiman also visits Instituto Butantan, a Brazilian biomedical research center, to meet with researchers. Also included are business cards of colleagues at institutions Kleiman visited.
