Abstract

The photograph album documents Alexander Wetmore's efforts studying bird populations on the island of Bonaire and Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles in 1969. Photographs are numbered, and captioned with location, description, and date. Subject matter includes detail shots of birds, birds' nests (including flamingo nest turrets), and surrounding vegetation; coastline; island interior and examples of saliñas; cave drawings; old salt ponds; structures from Slagbaai plantation; and views of town. Additional locations include Pekelmeer and Onima on Bonaire.|Includes photographs of Wetmore and Beatrice Thielen Wetmore.
