Abstract

The journal documents the field work of Edward A. Goldman in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona (Kaibab), September 2 - October 11, 1926. Entries are dated and often headed with location or route. Subject matter describes travel details (destinations, time of day, mode of transportation), terrain, vegetation, meetings and interactions with local officials and staff (including rangers) at multiple preserves and parks, observations of flora (including forage conditions) and fauna (including numbers, mammals including mountain sheep, deer), observations of elk populations (including trapping), sketches of corrals.
