Abstract

The field inventory documents Douglas R. Emlong's field work on the west coast of the United States, 1957 - 1964. Entries are listed per specimen and includes type of specimen, some notes on appearance, geological time period, locality description (including names of formations or drifts), and time (season, year). Locality information includes geological landmarks in vicinity and distances. There are extended location descriptions in the midst of specimen descriptions, which includes Yaquina Point, Yaquina River, and Iron Mountain, possibly in Oregon. Specimens include portions of porpoises and whales. Includes hand drawn maps of collecting locations in the vicinity of the Nacimiento River in Monterey county, California.
