Abstract

The photograph album documents Alexander Wetmore's travel in Africa during 1957. Photographs are numbered, and captioned with location, description, and date. Subject matter includes structures and terrain of Wankie Game Reserve [Hwange National Park]; portraits and candid images of colleagues; examples of Sparrow-weaver nests; observed wildlife; towns and ports visited; and aerial photographs. Additionally locations include Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls, Zambesi [Zambezi] River, and Kruger National Park. Includes photographs of Wetmore, Jean Theodore Delacour, Hoyes Lloyd, and Roger Tory Peterson.
