Abstract

Two letters (dated 31 January and 23 June 1861) from Kennicott to Spencer Baird reporting Kennicott's activities and collections of bird, mammal, and other specimens. Kennicott discusses his field work and that of collectors he recruits (such as Jones and Lockhart) and specimens collected. Kennicott discusses areas he collected in and what was found. Localities discussed include Fort Yukon, Puls River, Fort Yukon, and other localities.
