Abstract

The field book documents the field work of A. K. Fisher in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, August 7 - October 6, 1908. Entries are dated and locations are often noted on the left hand pages of notebook. Subject matter covers travel details (destinations, time of day, mode of transportation), weather, local inhabitant met, terrain, observed wildlife (birds, mammals and abundance), vegetation (crops), specimens collected, collecting methods, and effect of wildlife on area crops. Location information sometimes includes names of landowners. Locations include Fallon, Reno, Nevada; San Francisco, Hollister, California; Palo Alto, Klamath Falls, Oregon; Tacoma, Washington. The second half of the notebook is blank.
