Abstract

The field book documents the field work of A. K. Fisher in California, Oregon, Washington, June 11 - October 10, 1897. Entries are dated and locations are listed on the left hand side of the notebook. Subject matter covers travel details (destinations, time of day, mode of transportation), interactions with local inhabitants, daily activities, flora and fauna (birds, mammals) observed, specimens collected, weather, lists of plants observed per location, and collecting methods. There are sketches of plant specimens. There are lists of plants observed in places throughout Puget Sound, Washington. Locations include but are not limited to the vicinity of Hornbrook, California; Glendale, Portland, Tillamook, Astoria, Oregon; Tacoma, Steilacoom, Whidbey Island, Washington.
