Abstract

The field book documents the field work of A. K. Fisher in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, May 2 - August 14, 1894. Entries are dated and locations are noted on the left hand pages. Subject matter covers travel details (destinations, time of day, mode of transportation, campsites), flora and fauna observed (types), terrain and vegetation around campsites, specimens collected (mammals), and daily activities. A portion of the notebook is blank. At the back of the notebook are a list of mammals with phonetic translations into Moqui [Hopi], and counts per location. Some locations are not legible. Locations include El Paso, Texas; Holbrook, Keams Canyon, Arizona; Estes Park, Colorado.
