Dutcher was investigating the southern limit of Geomys Bursarius (gopher) and the northern limit of Geomys Breviceps. Locations cover travel Saint Louis, Missouri, to Eureka, Kansas via Little Rock, Arkansas; Fort Gibson, Cherokee Nation, Tulsa, Creek Nation, Oklahoma; and Parsons, Kansas.
