Abstract

Brief, unpublished report: "Smithsonian Institution 1947 expedition for the collection of fossil vertebrate remains from middle Eocene formation in the Huerfano Basin of Colorado and the Bridger Basin of Wyoming." Report summarizes collecting activities and collections ("mostly Eocene mammals, but principally of the tillodent Trogosus."). Also includes letter from Gazin to Secretary Wetmore with expense list enclosed. Specimen list recording specimen number, description of what was collected, initials of collector, date, and locality for 142 specimens collected from 15 July to 8 September 1947 are also included.
