Abstract

Brief, unpublished "report to the Department of the Interior regarding exploration and collecting of fossil vertebrate remains by the Smithsonian Institution in 1946 on Federal land in Wyoming" at the Bridger Formation. Narrative summary of collecting activities and collections (primates, rodents, and other mammals in various genera). Report is accompanied by and expense list and list of specimens recording specimen number, description of what was collected, collector initials, date, and locality specimens (numbered 1-98) collected from 31 May to 28 August 1946. Localities include Sweetwater and Unita Counties, Fremont County, Cedar Mountain, Twin Buttes, Grizzly Buttes, and Sage Creek.
