Abstract

This field book was kept by Lyman B. Smith in Brazil in 1968. One half of the book was used as a journal and the other half was used to record plants collected. Journal entries are narrative and describe Smith's collecting activities, observations of vegetation and landscape, and travels. Includes rough sketches of specimens. Some entries are in Portuguese. The second half of the book includes a list of plants collected by Smith in Brazil in 1968. Collector numbers 15332 through 15441 are included. Entries list collector number, scientific name. Occasionally entries will list physical characteristics of the specimen, locality collected, date. Localities include: Parati, Puya, and possibly others.
