This field book consists of the journal entries of Lyman B. Smith in Santa Catarina, Brazil, 1956-1957. Entries are narrative. Smith describes daily activities, including travels and collections made. To-do lists and records of expenses are also included. Hand-drawn maps of Fazende Campo Sao Vincente, and possibly other locations are included. Localities include: Itajai, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, S. Salvador, Recife, and Belem. An itinerary of the trip and a list of photographs taken are included in the back of the book.
