Abstract

This item consists of a field book and loose plant lists documenting field work of Lyman B. Smith in Brazil in 1964 and 1965. The field book includes a list of plants collected with collector numbers 12978 through 13340. Entries list collector number, scientific name, and other numbers (possibly quantity of specimens collected). Physical descriptions (such as flower color, size, etc.) are sometimes included. Geographic coordinates are listed for some collecting localities. Localities include: Catanduvas, Ponte Serrado, Itapiranga, Quinta, Sao Carlos, and possibly others. Also included are photocopied typed lists of plants collected by Smitih in Brazil from 1964-1965 and 1956-1957. Collector number, scientific name, and determination notes are listed.
