Abstract

This field book includes a list of plants collected by A. C. Smith in Fiji in 1953. Collector numbers 7001 through 8275 are included. Smith collected phanerogams, grasses, ferns, and cryptogams. Entries list: collector number, scientific name, local name / uses, habit, habitat, altitude (ft), date, flower and fruit notes, locality, "wood from", and no. spec. Localities include: Viti Levu, Ovalau, Mt. Tana, Ngau, Thawati, and possibly others. Includes a chart listing number of specimens collected of each type (phanerogams, grasses, etc.) for accession purposes.
