Abstract

The journal documents Vernon Orlando Bailey's collecting in North Dakota, Canada, and Oregon, May 29, 1915 - July 21, 1915. The entries are dated and describe travel details (destinations, times of day, accommodations), weather, terrain, viewings of local specimen collections, interactions with local inhabitants, vegetation (timber, including scientific names), observed birds and mammals, and life zones. Indicates the Remington Kellogg and H. H. Sheldon completed field work with him. Some entries are headed with location and include descriptions of nearby rivers and other geological landmarks.
