PrintManuscript written 15 March 1893 compiling information from notes from Howell's bird observations in Long Island, New York in 1892. Although his introductory paragraph notes that Howell wished to provide more information on bird migration, much of his notes document bird arrivals. Howell's essay is a chronological account of birds seen. He includes such details as sex, quantity, scientific and common names, song, locality, what the bird was doing when observed, and other details. Notes on weather conditions are also included.
