Abstract

Journal recording ornithological observations and collections made by Howell from 12 May 1892 to 16 May 1901 mostly in Long Island and other areas of New York. Observation notes include detailed descriptions of migration, bird songs, and other details. Notes on weather, sometimes with temperatures, are also included. New York localities include Parkville, Lake Grove, and Woodhaven in Long Island; Brooklyn; and Manhattan. Other localities include various areas in Virginia (such as Mount Vernon and Four Mile Run) and Washington, D. C. (such as Rock Creek Park).
