Abstract

Each page within this notebook contains a record of an egg set Howell collected. Notes are from 1884 to 1934. Records contain a number labeled "aou" until entry 100, another number (collector? set?) until entry 196, scientific name, collector (not always Howell), locality, date, quantity of eggs, incubation notes, identity, measurements, and remarks (usually notes on nest). Localities include Long Island, New York; Massachusetts; Iowa; Pennsylvania; Washington, DC; Texas; Alabama; Arkansas; and several other states in the Southeast United States.
