Abstract

Each page within this notebook contains a record of an egg set Howell collected when he was 15 from 15 April to 30 August 1887 mostly in Lake Grove, Long Island, New York. Records contain a number labeled "aou" (number range approximately 202 to 766), another number (range approximately 7-495) (collector? set?), scientific name, collector (not always Howell), locality, date, quantity of eggs, incubation notes, identity, measurements, and remarks (usually notes on nest). Other localities include Lee County, Texas; Dallas Center, Iowa; and other Long Island localities.
