Abstract

Each page within this notebook contains a record of an egg set Howell collected when he was 14 from 21 May to 31 July and 20 November 1886 in Lake Grove, Long Island, New York. Records contain a number labeled "aou" (number range approximately 412 to 763), another number (range approximately 7-378) (collector? set?), scientific name, collector (not always Howell), locality, date, quantity of eggs, incubation notes, identity, measurements, and remarks (usually notes on nest).
