Abstract

Continuation of "Bird notes, May 28, 1888, to 31 June 1889, #2". Daily, narrative notes on birds and eggs Howell observed or collected from 14 June 1889 to 7 May 1892. Detailed descriptions often including colors, distinguishing marks, song information, weather information, notes on abundance (often using words like common, frequent, sev., and one or two), and other information, are interspersed with long lists of birds. Localities include but are not limited to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; Brooklyn, New York; Cutts Island, ME; and Lake Grove (and other localities in Long Island, NY).
