Abstract

Continuation of bird notes from "Bird notes, Jan 19, 1887 to May 26, 1888, #1". Daily, field notes on birds Howell observed or possibly collected from 28 May 1888 to 31 June 1889. Notes include quantities seen or shot, sex of birds shot, lists of birds seen, notes on bird song, if the bird was common, weather descriptions, and other details. Localities include various New York localities such as Brooklyn, and Long Island localities Lake Grove, Seldon, and Garden City. Tables include "nidigication", and "residents". Residents table includes common name of the bird and periods of greatest abundance from 1887 and 1888.
