Abstract

The journal documents Vernon Orlando Bailey's collecting of mammal and bird specimens in Nevada, November 4, 1890 - February 3, 1891. Entries are dated and describe travel and specimen collecting. Details include distances traveled, destinations, terrain, vegetation, campsites, wildlife observed, type and quantity of specimens collected, collecting methods, specimen preparation, details about ranches and local crops grown, and observations of people and communities visited.
