Abstract

The journal documents Vernon Orlando Bailey's collecting of mammal and bird specimens in Arizona, Utah, September 1 - December 31, 1901. Entries are dated and sometimes headed with location. Details include descriptions of weather, collecting activities (placement of traps etc.), specimen preparation, quantities and types of specimens collected per day, weather, observations of wildlife, daily work, and campsites. Locations include but are not limited to Bridgess Pass, Wyoming; Birch Creek canyon; Wahsatch range, Salt Lake Valley, Utah; Provo canyon; Moccasin Springs, Arizona.
