Abstract

The field book documents Harold Elmer Anthony's field work in Montana and North Dakota, May 3 - August 31, 1910. The notebook cover indicates that H. E. Anthony was an agent for the US Department of Agriculture. Dated entries describe travel details; observations of birds and mammals, habitat, weather, specimens collected (type usually listed with common name), collecting methods. Entries for July and August are often only two to three lines, and appear to overlap with entries in item, Central America : Panama, Guatemala, March - June, 1905. Most of the notebook is blank. Locations include Buford, North Dakota; Glasgow, Strater, Benton, Highwood mountains, Montana.
