Abstract

Alexander Wetmore travels in Europe, 1930, 1934, and 1938. Photographs document travel to Amsterdam to attend the VII International Ornithological Congress and a collecting trip to Spain, 1930; England to attend the VIII International Ornithological Congress at Oxford; and France to attend the IX International Ornithological Congress in Rouen. Photographs sometimes include numbers, date, and caption with description and location. Subject matter includes Natural Sciences Centers, National Museums; and members of the international congresses. In Spain he photographed locations in the provinces of Oviedo [Asturias] and León, including collecting sites in the hillsides, fields, rivers, mountains, and valleys; buildings; and towns including Puente de los Fierros.
