Abstract

The photograph album (volume 2) documents Alexander Wetmore's participation in the Tanager Expedition, 1923, while working for the U.S. Department Agriculture (USDA), Bureau of Biological Survey. The expedition was conducted with the cooperation of the U.S. Navy, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and USDA. Photographs sometimes include numbers, date, and caption with description and location. Images include shorelines, examples of vegetation and wildlife of the islands visited, old camp and equipment of feather poachers, camp sites of the expedition, candid images of expedition participants, and rat traps, sites around Honolulu, several images of Albatross on Laysan Island, |Includes photographs of Wetmore, William G. Anderson, Eric Schlemmer, Charles Howard Edmondson, and Stanley Crittenden Ball.
