Abstract

Possibly unpublished manuscript typed in 1932 by Herbert Friedman on the the birds collected by the Smithsonian African Expedition under Colonel Theodore Roosevelt. Friedman includes a brief summary of the expedition, followed by a gazetteer of collecting localities. A summary of expedition results follows. The bulk of the document contains detailed information about the species of birds collected including description, distribution, specimens collected (with date, quantity, sex, and locality), and other information. Localities discussed include Nairobi, Uganda, Mount Kenia [sic], Sudan-Uganda boarder, Kapiti Plains, and many other localities.
