This notebook contains the following sets of Fox's notes from 1874-1881 bound together. 1. Notes, etc. Notes from 1872-1873 on birds observed and diary entries from 1874-1875 on birds observed or collected in Hollis (New Hampshire) and "suspension bridge" (New York). Collector numbers up to 297. Index included. 2. Diary from 1876-1877. Notes on birds collected and observed in Washington, D. C., and Hollis (New Hampshire), including sex and measurements. Collector numbers up to 1030 and 70248-70305 are included. Index included. 3. Diary, January 1877- January 1878. Collector numbers 1032 to 1210 included. Birds collected and observed in Concord (Massachusetts) and New Haven (Connecticut). 4. Diary, 1878 to 1881, collector numbers 1211 to 1401. Birds collected and observed in New Haven (Connecticut), Hollis (New Hampshire), and Amherst (Massachusetts). 5. Vol. II appendix a. "Catalogue of birds by age, sex, and mouth when taken, also the nest and eggs, New England collection." 6. Vol. IV, Appendix B. "Partial list of the birds of Hollis, New Hampshire, corrected to January 1882."
