Abstract

The 2 field books documents Henry Cushier Raven's collecting in Borneo, Indonesia, 1913 - 1918. Pages are numbered. The first specimen catalog includes field number (475 - 2080), USNM catalog number (nonconsecutive), sex, type (common or scientific name), locality, date (March 13, 1913 - May 1914), 4 types of measurements, and remarks. Remarks describe specimen preparation, specimen contents (fetuses), weight, collecting method, as well as additional location or habitat information. Locations are through out Borneo. |The second field book is marked "duplicate mammal catalogue," follows the same format and content as the first for field numbers 2101 - 3577, January 13, 1916 - May 1918. Locations include but are not limited to the vicinity of Lihoefang, Koeala Prang, Temboan, Parigi (Celebes), Gimpoe [Gimpu], Rano Rano, Pinedapa.
