Abstract

The 2 field books document Henry Cushier Raven's collecting in Borneo, May 27 - October 23, 1912 and March 15 - September 16, 1913. Pages are numbered. The first specimen catalog includes field number (1 – 474), USNM catalog number (non consecutive), sex, type (common or scientific name), locality, date, measurements (head and body, tail vertebrae, hind foot), and remarks. Remarks describe specimen preparation, specimen contents (fetuses), weight, collecting method, name in local language, as well as addition location or habitat information. Locations include Samarinda, Seagah, Birang River, Talisaian Mountains. |The second field book follows the same format and content as the first for field numbers 475-1032. Locations include Sandaren Baagoe, Pulo Pandjang [Pulogandang Ujung], Pulo Muara Tua, Pulo Mataha, Tandjong Seglu.
