Abstract

The field book and notes document Gerrit S. Miller's collecting in New York and Massachusetts, June 30, 1892 - June 6, 1894. Information was entered from the front and the back of the volume. Begins with a list of specimens collected in Westerbury and Peterboro, Massachusetts. Entries are dated and headed with type of bird observed or collected. Entries that are narratives describe time of day, habitat, behavior (breeding), observed nests, eggs, collecting methods ,descriptions of vegetation. From the back is a bird count for April and May 1892 for Weston, Dedham, and Provincetown. Locations include Monomoy Island, Massachusetts.
