Abstract

The field book and notes document Gerrit S. Miller's collecting in New York and Massachusetts, July 5 - September 13, 1890. Entries are dated, often headed with type of fauna (birds) observed or collected and describe behavior (flocks, individuals, feeding), appearance, and habitat (cranberry bog). Specimens collected are noted in the entry narratives with type, sex, and specimen number; they also include descriptions of behavior. Sometimes indicates location with name of land owner. Locations include the vicinity of Wellfleet Harbor and Billingsgate Point.
