The research data documents Louis Hutchins' participation in United States Navy Buoy Fouling Survey, 1943-1947. Data lists measurements of mussel samples from buoys, listed in lettered (B1 - B71) series and headed with buoy number and lists sample number, length, width, height, number, and averages. Some list totals for quantity of mussels. According to files in prior folder indicates that data for the Survey was collected in waters off the coast of New England; Mid-Atlantic; coast of New York, Florida, San Diego, Texas; Panama; Bahamas; and Newfoundland.
