Abstract

This item contains determination lists for and correspondence regarding botanical specimens Mrs. Y Mexia collected in Ecuador for the University of California and purchased by the Smithsonian. Documents are not in chronological order. Determinations were made by Killip and other Smithsonian employees. Correspondents include Killip, H. P. Bracelin (University of California), and others. Notes for collector numbers 6600 to 7600 are included. These are possibly drafts for specimen labels. Notes may be Mexia's. Many of these lists and letters were written after Mexia's death in 1938.
