The materials include correspondence, memoranda, maps, reports (including preliminary), documenting research and field work on sea otters, 1957-1961. They discuss publications and aims for population management. Official permits for permissions for collecting live otters and specimens. Reports (some by Ford Wilke) discuss most aspects of sea otter populations and their behaviors (breeding, eating,sex-ratios, etc). Some correspondence discusses the commercial fur industry.
