PrintFirst of two running catalog books Blakiston kept on birds collected in Japan and China. Notes seem to start from both the front end and back end of the book. From the back of the book are of birds collected in Hakodadi [sic] [recte Hakodade] and Ota Tokio, numbered 1103-2000, collected from 1873-1876. From the front of the book, notes on the left are a continuation of the notes from the 1103-2000 group, and notes on the right are from China, numbered approximately 501-800, until halfway through the book. These notes include some physical descriptions and sex information. Several lists are included in the back of the book: "specimens of insects", which include number ranges for coleoptera and diptera; shells number ranges; check list of birds from Japan; list of "specimens seen in Hakodadi"; "typical specimens required for Japan; and "classified list of birds from China".
