Abstract

This field book is one of two notebooks that contain notes from a field trip Bean took to the Washington state and Idaho for the United States Fish Commission from September 19 to October 19. This notebook contains notes from October 1-10. Bean uses shorthand extensively throughout this notebook. Notes describe flora and fauna of the area surrounding several bodies of water including but not limited to Spokane, Spokane River, and Post Falls. Air and water temperatures are often recorded. Common and Latin names of fish are listed.
