PrintNotes Bendire transcribed from his field notes of eggs collected in Idaho and Arizona from 5 April 1871 to 25 April 1872 and Oregon from 13 April to 6 July 1875. May contain some information also covered in volumes 1 and 2 of "Field notes, 1872". Includes common or scientific name of the bird, often a description of the nest (sometimes very detailed), sometimes the host tree, sometimes quantities of eggs, measurements, fraction of freshness or live embryo in egg, and set numbers. Example of set number format: 432 = 475. Localities include but are not limited to Fort Lapwai (Idaho Territory), Camp on Rillito Creek (present site of Camp Lowell, Arizona), Tucson to Rillito Creek (Arizona), and Camp Harney (Grant County, Oregon).
