Abstract

Second volume of field notes containing detailed descriptions of nests for various species of birds observed and eggs collected by Bendire and his colleague Mr. Spring in and near Tuscon, Arizona. This volume contains notes from 9 June to 14 September 1872. Set numbers for eggs range from 38 to 713. Localities in which eggs were collected and nests observed include but are not limited to "Rillito Creek" (probably Rillito River), "Santa Cruz Creek" (probably Santa Cruz River), Santa Rita, and Sonorita Creek 12 miles from Camp Crittenden.
